Lee Originals: The Archives is the vintage reproduction dept of Lee and for Spring/Summer 2010 they are recreating the famous Lee Rider 101Z jeans that were worn by James Dean in the movie Giant. The orignal jeans were actually sold at auction in October 2006 for $35,850.00, but you can expect to pay closer to £200 for a pair of the reproductions which will be available in selected stores (including Oki-Ni) across Europe shortly.

Anyone interested to know a little about history on denim then I recommend you check out this piece from the TheSelvedgeYard which as well being very informative features some great photos of Bing Crosby (famous for his denim tuxedo), Montgomery Clift (shown above wearing a pair of Lee Riders), John Wayne and Steve McQueen.

We thought our readers might enjoy some vintage pictures displaying over 75 years of history from Levi's denim. What a long way we've come, and yet the classic brand is still as fashionable as ever.
